WST 2000 - Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies

Prerequisite(s): College Readiness in English

Explores the interdisciplinary field of women’s and gender studies. Topics include the background and history of women’s and gender studies, rights movements, LGBTQIA+ identities, social constructions of sex and gender, relevant theories, women’s and gender statuses in social institutions including but not limited to the media, healthcare, religion, and government. This course examines inequality in gender and sexuality on national and global levels. (SS3)
