PSY 2771 - Psychology of Personality


3 Credits 45 Lecture Hours

Prerequisite(s): College Readiness in English

Examines the structure, function, and development of personality. Investigates the major contemporary theories of personality. Covers psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive-social learning, humanistic, trait, and, optionally, neurobiological, existential, and/or Eastern, perspectives. The underlying assumptions and research support for these theories are appraised. Enables the student to gain an appreciation of the value of alternative theoretical approaches to this subfield of psychology. (SS3)
